Paddock Maintenance

With extensive grass, weed and reed growth in the field, it was becoming a real challenge for our client to try and maintain it. We undertook flail mowing with our compact tractor and flail and within a few hours, the field was returned to our client, tidy, clean and ready for the horses to be returned.

IMG_2540.jpg

WATERGATE, CLEISH

Drainage Improvement Works

Faced with constant flooding issues to their fields, Our client sought our assistance to investigate and propose solutions to remedy the issue. The works involved 100m of new below ground piped drainage installation linking an existing manhole to a newly installed Manhole and outlet leading into an existing cundy at the other end of the site.
A number of lateral drains were installed and connected to the new main lines, each one backfilled with gravel to the surface. This ensured that, if the existing manhole still overflowed, the lateral drains would assist in discharging any accumulation of flood water forming in the fields. The results were an immediate success with flood waters receeding in a few short hours as opposed to the days, sometimes weeks that our client had previously endured.
The works were completed in-house by our own team.

KEYSTONE, CLEISH

Driveway widening works

Our client required some extensive widening to their existing driveway entrance to improve access for Articulated Horse Box vehicles. Works also included widening to other areas of the drive and installation of hardstanding parking bays.
All areas were excavated to remove the existing soft vegetation before installation of a 300mm deep granular base, heavily consolidated to ensure it could with withstand the heavy vehicle loads.
All surrounding areas were shaped and landscaped to provide a neat and presentable finish.

BLAIRADAM

All Weather Turnout Arena

CMS-fife recently undertook the installation of a circa. 500/m2 all weather out door equestrian arena. Our client had researched various types of surfaces and became settled on the idea of a standalone fibre surface providing maximum comfort for the horses and use in all types of weather. Appointed on a Labour and Plant hire only basis, CMS-Fife set about construction the area which involved regrading and compacting the existing free draining stone base, installation of perimeter kickboards, 3 rail fence, geotextile separation membrane and then the final 2-part fibre surface. To round off, we regraded the car park and access route into the arena making sure a smooth transition for the horses to manoeuvre. CMS-Fife wish to extend our thanks to Mr & Mrs Collin for allowing us to complete this fantastic looking project.

CAIRNEYHILL

Artificial Grass Lawn

Our client required to improve their rear lawn area which had suffered in recent years from excess foot traffic from their young kids and generally poor growing conditions and drainage.
CMS-Fife installed a new artificial grass lawn complete with timber edging providing a clean and easily maintainable surface which will last for years to come.
